Jane Iredale: New Spring Launch!

sp_09_cb_lg I spent the other day going to training for both MD Skincare and Jane Iredale.

It’s always fun to go get updates and review the products from lines we carry. It inspires us and I get all enthusiastic again.

Jane Iredale always does some of the best training we get to go to.  Done at a posh hotel with delicious food stuffs. The Canadian trainer is Reuben, a wonderfully entertaining man that knows how to work a crowd of beauty product obsessed women.

He was very quick to point out to us that because of the current recession (Spa Boutique is refusing to participate in that by the way), little luxuries like makeup and skincare are more easily accessible than say, flying to St.Lucia to stay at an exclusive spa resort.

On top of that, we have the wonderful opportunity to be expressive and creative TO THE MAX when it comes to makeup right now. Colors not seen in the last 15 years or so, are huge right now. My favorite being the 24 Karat Gold Dust in Aquamarine. My God it’s beautiful. All peacock in it’s glory.

There’s also a throw back in the lipsticks as well.  Erin and Julia are two lighter shades. One being a very nude beige (all 60’s like) and the other being a coral pink not seen since 1983-ish. They are a little intimidating at first, but both go on beautifully sheer and are even better when combined. Reuben was insistent that the Jane Iredale Pure Gloss Wild Apple HAD to be put over top to finish it off.

He did three eye makeup looks to show us how to use the azure. One was a color wash of blue and green across the eyelids for Twiggy inspired look. The next was an extreme 80’s look with blanked out and re-drawn on brows and heavy black and blue in the crease. She looked phenomenal and glam.

The last was an unabashed (and wearable) embracing of the entire new spring line. It was fresh, colorful and completely gorgeous.

By the end he had us all Ooooh-ing and Ahhhh-ing and lusting after every product.

For the cute factor, JI has also introduced a limited edition mini Pure Matte Powder with a little rhinestone on the edge. Adorable and portable! The rhinestone is what got me. I’d take a bedazzler to my garbage can if I wasn’t worried about my friends committing me.

I am thrilled with the new line. I think more people should embrace colorful eye makeup. For no other reason than that it’s fun. Jane Iredale has provided beginners to this with a wonderfully sophisticated palette to start with.

Plus there’s a rhinestone.
