MD Skincare: Glycolic Line for Acne and Rosacea
I’ve made no secret of my love for this line. I’m probably actually a little irritating. I assume it can solve all skin problems ever.
What I love is its completely unique approach to why we have the skin issues that we do, and for the most part MD Skincare tackles them in a way that makes sense. They’re marketed themselves as “surgical alternatives” (not entirely sure what that actually means) for reducing acne, rosacea and the appearance of lines and wrinkles. They focus on the idea of “chelating” or neutralizing heavy metals in the water that we use to wash our face. They figure those deposits get in the way of the active ingredients of the products we use.
From the first time I used it, I’ve been madly obsessed with the Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel. The AHA formula smoothes, brightens, clears and evens the complexion like no other product I’ve ever used. This coming from a girl that has been trained on upwards of 12 professional lines, used to sell ProActiv and worked in a drugstore, most of the time hanging out near the NeoStrata trying to read the labels while looking like I was working.
They have extremely advanced technology on the anti-aging front as well with an army of serums that deal with reducing redness caused by rosacea, highly anti-oxidant concentrates and one of the best eye creams I’ve seen.
Completely formulated by a dermatologist, they take a “surgical” approach to the results they’re looking to achieve.
I’m still deciding on the the whole Battery-Operated-Eye-and-Lip-Patch business. Deigh-Anna and I gave the eye ones a try a few weeks ago. It was weird because it didn’t feel any different, but when we took the patch off the skin directly under it was bright red. We could see a distinct line. But that was the only result we saw. So circulation was increased, which usually aides in absorption of products. Granted the product is aimed at skin about 30 years older than us…but I still haven’t been given an explanation I’m completely satisfied with. Skepticism can be a good thing?
Overall I’m thoroughly impressed with the line and it’s extremely popular, and with a higher price point that usually means people are seeing results. That makes my heart happy.
They’re launching an “organic” type body line soon, so keep your eyes open for that!
