Cumulative Exposure to Chemicals Such as Parabens

Cosmeticsdesign.com has just released the news that the environmental ministry of Sweden is doing one of the first studies on the cumulative effects of what all those chemicals from different products do to the human body.

They’re looking at common ingredients like parabens and pthalates, both of which are on peoples radars as possibly dangerous.

Up until now there has been little solid evidence that they are dangerous in the individual quantities that exist in single products. That’s why the ingredients are still considered safe and are found in pretty much everything ever.

What’s fascinating is that they’re going to look at how using multiple products with these safe levels actually effects us. This sounds like it could be a bit of a big deal once they release their findings. Of course then it’s a matter of the study being able to be replicated.

But still!

I’m very excited that this is happening. It’s one of my favorite conversations when it comes to cosmetics as everyone gets very passionate about whatever camp they fall into.

Let me know your thoughts!
