How to Brighten your Eyes with Makeup

How to Brighten your Eyes with Make-up

Ever wondered how the movie stars get their eyes so bright? Well… they ussually have a private make-up artist to help them with their look… but you can do it yourself easily!

Here are 10 tips to turn your eyes into a delightful bliss, make them pop, brighten up and look awake!

  1. Line the inner corner of the eye or your lower lashline with an eye pencil in shimmery white, pink or silver. Blend in the line. For extra brightening, use the pencil to highlight the brow line. I suggest Jane Iredale Double Ended Eye Highlighter Pencil – White/Pink
  2. To brighten eyes apply white(high sheen) eyeliner above top lid. Silver works well also.
  3. Some people find that a nude shade works best for them. White can be too obvious for some peoples skintone. If so, try a nude shade or something light peach or beige. Try Jane Iredale PurePressed Peach Sherbet or Bone Shadows
  4. Apply a tiny dab of concealer at the outer corners, too, and blend it with a sponge. Skin around eyes is highly coloured; you need to smooth it out to make eyes look healthier and brighter. Try Jane Iredale Circle Delete Eye Concealer
  5. To create brighter eyes around the eyelids, dot concealer from the lashes to the crease, blend slightly. Then apply a dot of highlighter at the inner corners of the eyes (this creates an illusion of bigger eyes as well).
  6. To brighten eyes, use a Q-tips cotton swab to apply a light shimmery shadow to the area between the bridge of the nose and eye. The light shadow will draw all eyes to yours. (try one of the two shimmery colors on your eyes found in Jane Iredales Moonglow
  7. Don’t try to match the eye color. A contrasting color makes the eye pop ie Brighten Blue eyes and draw attention with these Jane Iredale colors: Smoky Grey, Pink Smoke, Capuccinno, or eggplant. Brighten Green eyes and draw attention with these colors: Perfect Pink, or Wine & Roses.
  8. Concentrate a darker shade on the outer corner of the eye and sweep across the lid.
  9. A wet line has an amazing ability to stay on longer and creates a deeper color. You can also make an eyeliner or brow color out of them. Jane Iredale eyeshadows can be used wet or dry.
  10. Use the lightest shade as a base and highlighter, the medium shade for contour/shading and the darkest hue as a liner. Jane Iredales Trio PurePressed Eyeshadows - they have given you combination/palette solutions!)
