Purely Polished Skin with Eminence Organics Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant

It’s a totally unique facial exfoliant that starts off as a powder!  With the addition of water it becomes both a physical (the scrubby kind) and an enzymatic (the kind you don’t feel) exfoliant in one!  It’s also natural with organic ingredients so it really doesn’t get much better! Oh yeah, and it’s called Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant made by Eminence Organic Skincare.

 This gentle daily exfoliant is made up of tons of great ingredients including  rice powder, oats, lactic acid, chickpea flour, tons of antioxidants, and of course strawberry and rhubarb.  The main exfoliating ingredients are the lactic acid, salicylic acid (found in strawberries), and a combination of the chickpea flour and rice that provide the physical buffing action.  The rhubarb helps to fight the look of fine lines and the oats help to cleanse and smooth the skin.

It comes in a neat metal container with a shaker lid that you twist to open and twist to close.  You don’t need much powder at all – just a couple of shakes.  Add a bit of water and you’re ready to go!  Gently massage the paste over your clean skin for about a minute and then rinse with water.  If your skin is sensitive you may not use it daily, but you can certainly use it 2-3 times a week.  It can also be mixed with your favorite Eminence cleanser to make it even more gentle.  It sells for $48.00 and when used properly it lasts for at least a few months!

10 steps to younger-looking skin

Environmental exposure, poor diet, lifestyle, illness, and just plain old aging all have a big impact on how our skin looks.  When you see a young healthy skin (think children!), what does it look like? Its plump, hydrated, even-toned, clear, and glowing.  Here are 5 lifestyle habits to stop right now and then 5 skin care methods to start right now that will help bring that youthful look back to your skin:

1. Stop smoking

Cigarettes smoke is full of toxic chemicals which prevent the skin from properly functioning and slowly poisons it to death.  Cigarette smoking uses up the body’s Vitamin C which is responsible for preserving the collagen in our skin.  The result: dull, sallow, sagging skin with lines and wrinkles.

2. Stop exposing your skin UV rays

UV exposure (throughout the whole year) leads to an increase of the production of an enzyme in our skin which actually breaks down our collagen and elastin fibres leading to visible skin aging.  Not to mention the chance of irregular melanin clustering (age spots or sun spots) which are an absolute tell-tale sign of skin age.

Dermalogica Precleanse is a must-have for all skin types!

Cleanse before you cleanse

Just like the name says, Dermalogica Precleanse is meant to cleanse your skin before you cleanse your skin.  It sounds weird, but it totally makes sense!  Dermalogica is know for their double cleanse which always starts with Precleanse and ends with another cleanser appropriate to your skin type or condition.

Not for me, I can’t put oil on my skin
